Dear Students,

I have made a mistake, the follow-up to the article "My son deserves a second chance" was written by a Mr Benjamin Lee. The headline of the article was "Blame the slacking, not the system" [TODAY, Jan 7].

Mr Vincent Tan is the writer of the original article.

I would like to thank Goh Yu Xuan for pointing out the error.

Sorry for the mistake.

Hon

EMB Message by Ms Meta

Dearest S6B-ians,

Though it's rather belated, wishing all of you a happy and blessed 2010 ahead! =)

As most of you would have realised, sadly I won't be your CT this year. Regrettably, due to personal health reasons, I have chosen a reduced workload this year, focusing on academic teaching. It was a very difficult choice to make, however, for various reasons I know that you will be in good hands regardless of who takes over as CT.

I think that as a class, you are one of the well-bonded class that I've met. It's truly heartwarming to see how all of you help one another through various times of difficulties. This, I feel, is truly a hallmark of a class that stays together and is more meaningful than any no. of class outings or chalets organised. A class that plays together, work together and cry together will definitely stay together and I hope that you will continue to be there for one another in times of ups and downs, especially this year, where it'll be really challenging with A-levels looming up ahead.

In our short one year together, I really feel that I've learnt a lot from each and every one of you. I would like to sincerely apologise for any slip or mistakes that I've made. My only regret is that most of the time I feel that I should be more strict in class discipline but I also believe that all of you are mature young adults who are able to make your own choices. As you make your choices, sometimes they are right and sometimes they are wrong, but by exploring I hope you've learnt from the choices that you've made. I really enjoyed the time that we spent together, be it the CIP project or class breakfasts. Pls remember to invite me for future class outings or chalets ;-) Pls feel free to look for me for help if you need it or just a chit-chat...I'll definitely make time for you!

Ms Chen Geok Loo will take over as your CT this year and she's a really, really nice teacher, so pls don't bully her or take advantage of her k ;-) I have confidence that you'll be nice to her and that she'll be good for all of you =) I also trust that the class comm will render her all the help that she will need as well.

I'll still see most of you for Chem and I'll definitely see you all around school, so this is definitely not farewell from me. Pls continue to work hard and play hard this year ;-) It's been my pleasure being your CT last year and thank you for being the wonderful bunch that you are!

Cheers,
Ms Meta
