(yes this is the khatib one)
as for yoyo, i have absolutely no idea :)
OH YA
there's this art fest thing this wednesday. i dont have much info yet but its about art DUH. anyway admission is free and people who are interested please keep that day free :) hui mini is performing so please go and support if possible.
mr teo told me today that what we want to do must be something most of us shouldn't be able to do... and also we must be able to learn from it. then a proposal has to be written. so in other words i think pool is quite out :/ he gave the example of rollerblading and baking. i was thinking if we could do along those lines?
we'll check again during PT next week i hope. if not then over the holidays. we should be doing this the week after GEMs on a free afternoon.
first of all thanks everyone for the support :) i was literally a bit numb after i got the result and then had to rush back to meet the teacher. but thanks really appreciate it. anyway i have something very important that i would like to mention first. i actually wanted to write about it yesterday but i ended up very tired after the strings concert so i decided to write it today instead.
by now we can all feel a lot of stress and work piling up, from all the consecutive tests, pw, long hours of lessons etc. worse still this is a period with a lot of cca activities like competitions, huangcheng, council... in the end most of us have long overdue homework, either simply because we are lazy or really have no time to do them.
whichever the case is please do ask for help =D from people whom you know can give you what you need. it could be from friends inside or outside school, cca mates, classmates, teachers etc. if theres anything i can do feel free to approach me... i wouldn't say i can do very much but ill try. on the other hand if we see anyone whom you know will need the help do try to help! especially those who are weak in academics or feel demoralised in any way.
block tests coming in about 1.5 months. for many of us including myself i think we have relaxed enough over the past 7 months. i think its time we do a little more over the holidays and catch up with our academics, especially the S U subjects like gp, econs and physics. do realise at the end of two years, academics truly matter a lot and it is really a gradual process. last minute rushing is risky and difficult due to a fast paced curriculum. i think its best that we start from now and prepare for blocks at the same time. hopefully, we can have a few mugging sessions over the june hols.
one more thing please get a lot of sleep this weekend lah. i understand a lot of people are realy deprived of sleep now, because of a mad gpp rush or other projs/commitments. please do take care of yourselves because regardless personal health should be the top priority. i really think its more worth it to stay healthy than to overachieve but end up in poor health.
Based on the tagboard replies, I think most are interested in the chalet yay! Though some of you suggested chevrons, I think NSRCC would have more stuff to do as its around east coast too. Lots of stuff to explore and check out =)
K more about the rates at NSRCC.
As I have membership the rates are actually super good.
There are two types of rooms: Near swimming pool, and not near (which is cheaper)
This is for the non-near pool one:

So on the decision of dates.
I think most of us would be "free-er" on the third week of june.
So the dates fall between 15th of June and 21st of June.
Those who have serious commitments and can't make it on those dates please say thanks! =)
Another thing is do we want a 2D1N Chalet OR 3D2N chalet? Comments again please =)
So that's all for now. I will try to check if they provide BBQ food (they should) and the rates when we book the place.
As the June holidays approach, I was thinking if anyone would be interested in the idea of a class chalet during that period, prefably in the third/middle week of the june holidays.
I know there would be blocks right after the holidays and such but we should also just allow days for slacking and having fun haha!
So maybe we could book a chalet at east coast or something, then we can cycle, bbq, slack, play cards etc and whatnot.
Ok Venue can be at Safra Country Club chalets. They have many facilities there including bowling and pool (YES YUXUAN I CAN FEEL UR EXCITEMENT). Plus i can get membership discounts. So are you guys ok with it? The Chalet is quite good, Ortus High school pple would know haha.
is anyone interested in going for night cycling trip... the OAC one? (eh raymond don't so despise lah =D) cos today the senior class said quite a lot of them are going INCLUDING RUIWEN HAHA and they are checking if we are going as well. i am confirmed going so if anyone else is going we can go get a form together. we don't need the whole class, amybe 5-6 people will be great, thanks.
second thing is class tee. does anyone still feel that the tee needs improvement? if not, i am going to check prices with the confirmed design and hopefully print it this weekend - sorry a little too busy these few days. if anyone still has any suggests we can try to re-design it but hopefully not.
Today was the day where all the relay final events were held but our class only participated in ONE event-4x400m. I wish we could have been more enthu for sports day, especially relays because it involves everyone.
Anyway, we finished 5th out of 8 teams. Although we did not have a podium finish, all four have ran their best and they are:
Kok Seng (1st runner) Wu Di (2nd runner) Jiawei (3rd runner) Caleb (4th runner)
There will be finals for other events which will happen soon, so if anyone of us have gone through heats into finals, be there to support them!
sorry today im a bit emo which is why im writing such an emo post.
i think we've known each other since about start of feb, which as of today is approximately 3 months. in this 3 month we have not only got to know new people in the class but also get closer with one another, understand them better, and also start to rely on each other for help and support lah.
but in the process we of course change our perspectives of each other, and as a result start to hate/like different people, ignore/despise/flame/bully whatever. i think its natural that you like some people and dont like some people, but keep in mind that we are still one class and distancing way too much from one person may not be that advantageous in the long run.
we are just 16-17, and in this period of time people change a lot, and at an amazing pace. the person whom you currently hate might end up being someone you depend on in the near future. do keep in mind that once upon a time you could just be the same as the person whom you are looking down upon. if you're not, maybe your best friend is. etc...
in short, try to stay bonded as a class, and accept the differences. theres still 1.5 years to go at least :)
Hey guys, this is just a follow-up to edwin's post. Guanyu suggested playing pool before STJ, so anyone interested please meet at 4pm at bugis mrt station. Also, guys who do not have any boxer shorts to wear to the fac outing, please contact me asap. Thank you, spread the message ~
Hi, it's me again. Out of the few of you who commented on the class tee, some have shown interest in the very first design for class tee:
Can we go with this? pls respond.
As for the back of the class tee, since some of you like the banana, i suggest printing this at the back:
We can change the colour of our names for each shirt to make them different.
Can you guys pls comment and give suggestions, like the font or the colour or the design. It's going be our class tee and you guys are going to wear it, so pls say something.
- di
P.S. The positioning of the names is arranged randomly, and the sizing is purely due to space constraint
